Terms

The rules of Japa, in plain words. Updated 14 October 2026. By starting a life you agree to them.

18 and over

Japa accounts are for people aged 18 and over. You tell us the year you were born when you start a life; if you are not 18, you cannot have an account. Lying about it can get an account closed.

Play fairly

  • One person, one life at a time, and one account per email inbox. No bots, scripts, automation, or running many accounts to farm money or the boards.
  • No cheating: no exploiting bugs on purpose, and tell us when you find one instead. No attacks on the server or other players' accounts.
  • Be decent to other players: no harassment, hate, threats, sexual content, scams, spam, or sharing anyone's private details. Place chats are for the people at that place for 24 hours; the rules are in the chat, and a report goes to a moderator.
  • Your handle is public. No handle that pretends to be the Japa team, a real person, or a real organisation.

Nothing here is worth real money

Naira, pounds, dollars, visas, cars, houses and everything else in Japa are game things. They have no real-world value, and they stay that way: no selling, buying, swapping or giving game money, items, accounts or progress for real money or anything of real value, on or off Japa. Nothing in Japa is for sale, and nobody is allowed to sell it for us. The casino and betting are play-money for adults only.

Moderation and bans

Moderators can remove messages, hide them while they check a report, pause a chat, and ban an account from place chats, voice notes or the game for a time or for good. We keep a note of why. If you think a decision was wrong, email support@japa-life.com and a person will look again. We may close accounts that break these terms, and accounts that are plainly abandoned or abusive may lose their progress.

As is

Japa is a game made by a small team. It is provided as is, with no promise that it will always be up, that nothing will break, or that your progress is kept forever (we back it up every night and try hard). To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses from using it, and nothing here limits what the law does not let us limit. We may change the game and these terms; when a change matters, you will see it in What's new, and carrying on playing means you accept it.
